Dr. Bryan Fuller PH.D.

Dr. Fuller received his B.S. degree from The University of Michigan and his Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Arizona specializing in molecular endocrinology. Dr. Fuller was a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center for over 20 years until retiring in 2007 to devote his full-time efforts to developing topical dermatology products that could help improve common skin problems. This objective led to the creation of DermaMedics.

DermaMedics is a skin care company that specializes in the discovery of technologies for the dermatology market. DermaMedics has broad expertise in molecular based skin research and uses this expertise to identify botanically derived chemical compounds that display pronounced biological activities that are beneficial to the skin. DermaMedics' skin biochemistry research program originated at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and the discoveries made there were transferred to the company in 2011. Through licensing agreements, DermaMedics makes its patented technologies related to natural anti-inflammatory and anti-aging compounds available to pharmaceutical companies that specialize in dermatology drug product development. In addition, DermaMedics utilizes its expertise in skin science to develop the best possible skin care products for physicians, medical spas, other medical professionals and for consumers.

About the Founder and CEO, Dr. Bryan Fuller

For over 25 years, Dr. Fuller has conducted research on the structure and function of human skin. He is one of the leaders in the field of human skin pigmentation and has done extensive research to determine how hormones and sunlight alter growth and pigmentation in both normal human skin melanocytes and in melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer. His discovery of hormones and hormone-like chemicals that can stimulate pigment synthesis ("tanning") in human skin and those that can inhibit pigmentation, and therefore lighten skin, has resulted in the issuance of many U.S. patents.

In addition to his research on human pigmentation, Dr. Fuller has spent many years investigating the cellular events involved in skin inflammation and inflammatory skin diseases. Research in his laboratory has focused on identifying novel botanically-derived chemicals that have pronounced anti-inflammatory effects. This work has led to the development and commercialization by two international skin care companies of clinically tested topical skin care products that contain natural ingredients useful in addressing skin problems.

Dr. Fuller's research on skin pigmentation and his studies to identify natural compounds that can treat skin inflammation have led to the issuance of 21 U.S. patents as well as 9 international patents.

Dr. Fuller has conducted research and has served as a consultant to many skin care companies including Johnson & Johnson, Procter and Gamble, Unilever, Upjohn, Nu Skin, and Wella. His research has received support from the NIH, NSF, Procter and Gamble, and Wella, AG. Dr. Fuller has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles on pigmentation and inflammation, as well as additional articles and reviews on the development of topical products for regulating pigmentation and controlling inflammation. Dr. Fuller sits on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology and the journal, Cosmetics, and has been a member of 5 professional societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the American Society for Cell Biology, the PanAmerican Society for Pigment Cell Research, and the Endocrine Society.

Science Of Anti Aging

The DermaMedics ANTI-AGE line is specially designed to improve the appearance of aging skin. Using unique formulas not available with any other line, ANTI-AGE products function to create a more youthful appearance.

Science Of DermaRad
